Be An Angel Appeal
Remembering Our Angels …
“Life is full of moments that only you and your angels share”
Each year, Coastal Hospice encourages its Lower Shore neighbors to be “angels” by including the organization in their holiday giving through the Be An Angel Appeal. During the weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, angel ornaments are hung on Coastal Hospice Christmas trees displayed across the region. Each angel is personalized with the name of someone a donor wants to memorialize or honor.
The Be An Angel Appeal helps support vital Coastal Hospice programs, such as offsetting room and board costs at Macky & Pam Stansell House and Coastal Hospice at the Lake and sustaining the organization’s year-long Bereavement Program. While the medical care we provide is covered by Medicare and insurance, there are gaps, especially for low-income and indigent patients. Our annual Be An Angel Appeal delivers crucial financial support.
Your gifts helped 1,270 hospice patients and their families last year.
Last year, Coastal Hospice cared for a record number of patients and their families while providing more than $363,000 in care for patients in need.
Donations can be made through the donation form found here. Please include the name of your angel. Be sure you include the name of your angel and Coastal Hospice will write it on the ornament and hang on one of the Angel Trees.

These efforts are funded by the “Be an Angel” Campaign
Residential Hospice
$450 provides a day of coordinated care at Macky & Pam Stansell House of Coastal Hospice. Patients may stay for their final weeks or months in safety and comfort to receive the medical, spiritual, and emotional support they need in a place that feels like home.
Pediatric Care
$1,000 will help us provide all-encompassing support for a child and their family. Pediatric hospice patients can receive curative treatments concurrent with hospice services. The hospice team works with the family and their physicians to achieve physical, psychosocial, and spiritual care.
Home Hospice
$195 will help us provide hospice care at the patient’s residence, skilled nursing facility or any setting they consider “home.”
Inpatient Hospice
$1,000 will provide one full day of intensive symptom management for patients requiring care at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.
Grief Support
$75 will fund services that will help patients and family members navigate with the emotions that a life-limiting illness or loss can bring.
Oxygen Equipment
$4,000 will allow us to purchase an additional AIRVO oxygen machine for our hospice facilities. The AIRVO helps patients with severe restrictive lung diseases by administering warm, moist, high flow oxygen. This new treatment provides patients and families the opportunity to be cared for in a peaceful and compassionate hospice setting.
