Coastal Hospice at The Lake

Coastal Hospice at The Lake is our short-term inpatient facility located in a dedicated wing of the historic Deer’s Head Hospital in Salisbury, Maryland. It is designed to give you or your loved one a temporary stay when intense medical care is needed to treat symptoms that cannot be managed at home. Most stays are less than five days in length.

A Peaceful Stay with Around the Clock Care

Coastal Hospice understands how important it is for patients and families to feel comfortable. The wing is small, with six private and four semi-private rooms, so care is intimate and immediate. Friends and family are welcome at any time of the day or night with unlimited visiting hours.

Community rooms, including a garden room and a kitchen, and walking trails around the lake are places to gather and relax.

A Lifeline for Caregivers

We are here as a support system for caregivers and offer respite care as a much-needed break. We provide a short-term stay for the patient with the same level of quality care they would receive at home. We also accept patients that have just been released from the hospital and require transitioning to home hospice care. We assist with medication adjustments during the transition while their home is being prepared.
