Coastal Walk & 5K Run

Salt air, crashing waves, wildlife, and sunshine. What better backdrop for a charity 5K and 2-mile walk? This fun event is presented by Beachwood, Inc. Custom Builders and sponsored by Assateague State Park & MD Park Services. Best of all, every step raised over $20,000, benefiting the Macky & Pam Stansell House of Coastal Hospice.

120 participants of all ages, from energetic children runners to those enjoying the scenery in strollers and even leashed furry friends, spent a beautiful morning by the coast by choosing to compete in a 2-mile Walk or 5K Run, held on Saturday, October 18th. Registrants arrived and enjoyed refreshments and music until the race began. Registration was $30 and included a dri-fit long-sleeve shirt, and medals were awarded to the placing participants in each of the categories following the race. The Macky & Pam Stansell House of Coastal Hospice is a state-of-the-art in-patient hospice and community outreach center in Berlin that offers residential care for terminally ill patients, palliative care, counseling, grief support, and community wellness programs. Founded in 1980, Coastal Hospice is a nonprofit health care organization that cares for individuals facing life-limiting conditions but who want to remain as active and engaged as possible. Coastal Hospice cares for patients in their home, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, Coastal Hospice at the Lake, or the Macky & Pam Stansell House. Our organization serves the Lower Eastern Shore: Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, and Somerset counties.
